Can Christianity transcend its central event?I've never been comfortable with the Celebration of Death. The accompanying story of Resurrection and the myth of a substitutionary sacrifice only make matters worse. In the Old Testament, the kid survives; but surely Abraham is not a role model for fathers in any culture. Exchanging Ishmael for Isaac solves nothing.

No-Church-Church Gathering

April 1, 2012 meet in the Large Conference Room at the Fairfax Public Library in Chantilly, VA. from 3-5PM. This gathering is for people who are searching but do not wish to attend a traditional church, and are not necessarily convinced about God or Buddah or a higher spirit. We are an affirming, open, welcome group. Everyone is welcome, and we mean Everyone. Here you are allowed to ask questions, express doubts, find encouragement in your life's journey. Soft drinks and cookies served (the library doesn't allow more elaborate food in the conference room).
